Exchange Bitcoin (BTC) to Zcash (ZEC)

Swap BTC for ZEC on CryptoChicken with a minimum of 0.05 BTC and a maximum of 1 BTC per transaction. Current Zcash reserve sits at 72,001.76 ZEC, enough to cover sizeable orders without splitting. Bitcoin is sent over the native BTC network (mainnet), while Zcash is paid out on its own Zcash chain — transparent t-addresses are supported by default.

Zcash uses zk-SNARK cryptography for optional shielded transactions, making it one of the few major coins with built-in privacy features. The conversion completes after the standard BTC confirmation count, with no registration required.

Network speed and fees

Bitcoin confirmations typically take 10–30 minutes depending on mempool load and the fee paid. Zcash blocks are produced every ~75 seconds, so ZEC arrives at the destination address within a few minutes after the swap engine releases it. Network fees on Zcash are minimal — usually a fraction of a cent.

Address requirements

Provide a valid Zcash t-address (starts with "t1") for the payout. Shielded z-addresses are not supported for incoming exchange transfers.
